Two Life Sciences Firms Join JSNN Nanomanufacturing Consortium

MARCH 2015 - Nanomanufacturing Innovation Consortium at the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering in Greensboro, according to a Wednesday announcement.

Banner and Kepley are the 29th and 30th members of the consortium, which was established in July 2013 and allows companies to gain access to the JSNN’s cutting-edge equipment and access to ideas and expertise from the school’s scientists. Members also include  High Point University, Greensboro-based apparel company VF Corp. (NYSE: VFC) as well as International Textile Group Inc.'s Burlington and Cone Denim divisions.

“The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering prides itself on its strong relationships with industry leaders,” said James G. Ryan, founding dean of JSNN. “JSNN benefits greatly from its collaborations with our industry partners and we look forward to the continued growth of our consortium.” 

John Merrill, executive director of Gateway University Research Park Inc., said the continuing success of the NIC is an excellent example of Gateway’s efforts to be a catalyst for university research, innovation and economic development.
